My Students

I teach at a Title I school in a small community. My students come from various backgrounds and are truly hard-working, creative, and kind individuals. Many of my students live in poverty and as such their access to technology and support at home is limited. They consistently strive to achieve in school, but many students have enormous mountains to climb due to their socio-economic status.

Despite the challenges to learning during these past few years, my students are courageous, strong, and dedicated learners.

They continue to amaze me every day and have truly enriched my life with their wonderful personalities. As a community of learners, my students support each other and help each other succeed. My classroom is a place of safety and courageous growth where my students take care of each other.

My Project

Who isn't more engaged in print that is in color? Help me give my students more engaging practice and activities that have a pop of color. In today's teaching environment, many of our texts and resources to help students learn must be printed from online resources. Students are naturally drawn to text and pictures that are in color and the ability to print them as they are designed will increase students' engagement. In addition to increasing engagement; notes and important information, when printed in color, will help the students remember and connect with the important ideas and content easier. The more engaging our materials are, the more my students will get out of them!
