My students love to talk and have discussions! I am a middle school special education teacher in Akron, OH. Engaging students in chapter reading is beneficial in so many ways:
Exposing students to rich texts can help build literary skills such as drawing conclusions, making inferences, determining theme, etc.
Chapter books can engage students in conversations as well as discussions on how texts relate to current events/history/every day.
Chapter books can be made interactive through story maps, written responses, charts, etc. students can interact and learn so much through one book!
The list goes on and on! Not to mention, seeing teachers get excited about reading, can get students excited about reading! These new historical fiction books will help add more diverse titles and themes to our library!
Thank you so much for any donation you are able to give!
