My Students
My students come from mixed backgrounds of single-parent, traditional family, mixed family, and foster or grandparent care. Common to all, however, is the desire to be given the opportunity to explore and discover critical thinking skills needed by all as they transition from being the students of today to the leaders of tomorrow.
My students are ambitious, kind, and ready to learn crosscutting science and engineering concepts.
Your donation will provide resources for these students I love. We are currently working with the 5E lesson structure that includes inquiry-based labs and interactive notebooks. I need Chromebooks for rotation labs in my classroom.
My Project
My students are in need of 6 Chromebooks for engaging in and exploring science concepts. The Chromebooks will be utilized during labs at a station titled Research It. Here, students will engage in an online research project on a specific topic. The rotation station is part of an 8-station rotation where students read, watch, explore, research, illustrate, write, organize and assess a single topic. The labs usually last 2-3 days.
The students are rotating between these stations, so I need only a few Chromebooks for the Research It station.
While my school does have Chromebooks available for individual classroom use, it would be nice to not hog an entire Chromebook cart when I only need 6. Students will also use these Chromebooks to check grades and find missing assignments. And I will also make readily available presentations for English Language Learners so they can engage in vocabulary development.
