Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My kindergarten classroom is a class full of wonderful and kind students. Students range in age from five to six years old. My school is located in Nevada in a high need community. Our school is a STEAM Academy elementary school where students love to invent, explore, and be creative. Students have a real joy for learning. They enjoy coming to school every day and are eager to learn. I enjoy watching my students grow and succeed in the classroom.
My Project
This books will allow for my students to encounter reading fiction and non fiction reading materials about topics that we cover in class. Many of my students may not have the opportunity to experience many different things. What better way to help then learn that through books. These books will help to keep them engaged and learn about different animals, seasons, standards, and most importantly vocabulary. Each week we will focus on one text and look closely at that text. Each theme and will help keeps student engaged. As close reads are implemented over time students will become better equipped to handle more difficult texts.
