Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students come from a low socio-economic community where they face a lot of hardships; yet, they come into our classroom full of curiosity and eager to learn new things. Kindergarten students love to engage in academic centers where they can use different types of manipulatives to help them learn. In the past, we used Ziplock bags but with the wear and tear, we had to replace them almost weekly. The photo cases will allow us to store them all in one place with the materials and tools that students need. It will also allow us to label and have centers for different academic subjects (Math, ELA, Science, HFW).

The photo cases will allow the materials to last longer and not have to be replaced frequently.

The writing journals will allow our students to practice their penmanship and learn how to write sentences while keeping all their work in one place, instead of copying paper each week. Magnetic letters, magnetic tape, and a bamboo stand will allow us to keep our anchor charts up for longer periods of time so students can use them as references. The bamboo stand will be very helpful when teaching in small groups to be able to show alphabet cards and books. These materials will allow the teacher to become more prepared and more effective in our practices, and be able to prepare our students to help them reach their academic goals. These materials will help two kindergarten classes.
