Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The majority of our students are ESL and can be shy about using English.
Board games and crafts give our ESL students something they can do together and make conversation in English.
This helps to build confidence and fluency for students.
Students love to spend time in the library and they love to use the maker space, where jewelry making has been a big hit this year. We are always in need of resupply and whenever we run out of something the students are quick to let me know! They love making bracelets for themselves and friends, and even as gifts for family members.
