Energizing Voices for Justice: Tech Support for Critical Learning

Help me give my students charging stations and power strips to keep their devices powered while learning about racial justice, climate change, and environmental action

My Project

My students are my pride and joy. Every day, they show up with courage, curiosity, and a determination to succeed—despite the many learning challenges they face. Many have learning impairments, but they are not defined by those obstacles. What defines them is their resilience, their compassion, and their desire to make a real difference in the world.

In our classroom, we focus on meaningful, real-world topics—especially racial justice and environmental issues.

These themes resonate deeply with my students, who are passionate about social equity and protecting our planet. Whether we’re analyzing the impact of environmental racism, reading diverse authors, or working on sustainability-focused projects, technology plays a central role in their learning. But our ability to use that technology is limited by one major challenge: keeping our devices charged.

That’s where a mobile charging station and surge protectors come in. These tools will ensure that every student can keep their device powered throughout the day, allowing them to stay fully engaged in lessons, conduct research, and complete digital assignments without disruption. A centralized, accessible charging solution will remove a simple but frustrating barrier and allow students to focus on what really matters—learning, thinking critically, and finding their voices.

By supporting this project, you're helping students stay connected to their education and empowered to explore vital issues like racial justice and climate change. With charged devices and charged minds, they’ll be better prepared to lead the change they want to see—in their communities and beyond.
