it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The yoga mats that I am requesting will facilitate the planning for the "yoga days" that will be planned for Friday mornings with the girls from the "Unstoppable Lady Cubs". The racks will help to maintain the yoga mats organized and in good condition, and the amplifier will allow me to amplify my voice in front of a large audience during a yoga session.
With so much emphasis on technology and a need for instant validation, I would like to expose the girls to an activity that can disconnect them from all that outside pressure.
In addition, doing yoga can improve physical and mental health, support effective brain development, enhance memory, retention, and concentration, reduce stress and anxiety and increase motivation and productivity.
The goal for this project is to help the girls rely on yoga as one of the means of self-care. Part of the mission of the Unstoppable Lady Cubs' club is to empower the girls with tools that promote self-love. Choosing to engage in a 10-minute yoga can be a start or continuation to stay on the road to self-empowerment.
The members of the lady cubs are students that want to develop self-awareness or strengthen their skills to stay mentally healthy. They are open-minded, kind, and brave young ladies.
