Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In our classroom, we believe that movement is key to learning! Students need more than just a desk to sit at all day—they need a way to move, recharge, and refresh their minds. That’s why I’m requesting a Walking Pad to give my students the chance to take short, purposeful brain breaks while still staying engaged in their learning.
Research shows that physical activity boosts brain function, improves focus, and reduces stress.
With a walking pad, my students will have a safe, accessible way to get moving throughout the day without leaving the classroom. Whether they’re walking during independent work or taking a quick movement break in between lessons, this simple tool will make a huge difference.
Here’s how the walking pad will help our classroom:
Brain Breaks: Students will be able to take short, 5-10 minute walking breaks to refresh their minds and bodies, reducing restlessness and increasing focus.
Improved Focus: Research shows that light physical activity improves concentration, leading to better engagement during lessons.
Healthier Students: Encouraging movement throughout the day will promote physical well-being, and help combat the effects of sitting for long periods of time.
More Productive Learning: A quick walk helps clear their minds, so when they return to their desks, they are ready to tackle their work with renewed energy and focus.
In our classroom, we strive to create a learning environment that fosters both mental and physical well-being. This walking pad will be a game-changer for our students, allowing them to take the brain breaks they need to stay energized, motivated, and focused.
