This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Science is one of my favorite subjects to teach through the use of hands-on labs and activities. I find that students are more engaged and excited about science when they get to build and create models.
STEM activities are a great way for students can incorporate inquiry-based learning in a way that gets them away from the computer and into their design.
The batteries, toothbrushes, and cell phone vibrating motors will be used to create "brush bots." These tiny robots will help reinforce the concepts of kinetic energy and electrical energy transfer. The knife switchblades will be used when we are creating models of simple, parallel, and series circuits.
The wiring will also be used for testing out different methods of electrical energy transfer as well as testing for electrical conductivity. Finally, the heat gun will be used (safely by me) when demonstrating thermal conductivity.
