This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I'm so excited to return to teach second grade again. Both the students and I will be transitioning to second grade. I'm sure with all the challenges we had last year, they will come to school excited, dedicated, and determined to succeed. Hopefully this year I'll get to see all my students face to face which will make our classroom more enjoyable with better performance outcomes.
Last year was a challenge to everyone, but the students and I will be recharging, creating, and working towards meeting specific goals.
There will always be challenges. I'm sure this classroom will be more together than ever. The fact that my students are from a Title I school in a border town in the southern tip of Texas and from low-income families receiving free meals, does not stop their eagerness to succeed. I feel lucky to be part of their learning this year.
My Project
Last year was a challenging year with limited visual materials to assist the students’ learning. This Mini Press will assist my classroom student diversity by being able to create a classroom filled with environmental print to support all types of students’ learning. They will have fun learning and provide them with lots of opportunities to interact with letters, sounds, words and much more. The toner is for the printer needed to print visual reference sheets for the students' binders.
The donations to this project will help to improve my students' understanding in a fun and colorful way.
This Mini Press will also be useful in creating personalized items for the students to celebrate different events throughout the school year. It's important to celebrate those special events with the classroom. The press will also be used for creating school related projects.
