Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are fascinating, curious, outgoing 2nd graders. They love to know about the world around them and like to explore the community. They love to share about their lives with their peers and talk about their dreams and aspirations.
Each of my second graders are unique in their own way.
Some love Ninjago art, and some love to read to their teams. Some love to share, while others like to work independently. Some like to be outdoors and run and play, while others would rather get cozy and work on an art project.
My students are special because they take time in each of their days to spread kindness in their classroom. Even though they have had several teachers this year, they have still leaned on each other for support through the difficult times. Through watching their interactions I can see how much they have grown this year.
My Project
My students will be able to practice being a community with the extra school supplies that the classroom needs. The students will be using the supplies to do math, art, and the upcoming units on science and the life cycle. With the supplies there will be less worry for the students who struggle with projects because the lack of things like crayons, markers, or glue sticks.
I will also be using the materials such as the bins, library pockets, and name tags to create a community where students will be able to see their work, their name of their classroom expectations.
They will have a safe space that is organized in a way that makes the classroom feel like their own.
