This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As the school year progresses, our classroom supplies like pencils and glue sticks are running low. My eager kindergarten students love engaging in hands-on craft activities that involve cutting and pasting, but we've unfortunately run out of glue. We'll need to rely on glue sticks to continue these creative projects and class activities. Pencils also seem to disappear quickly - you can never have too many! Ticonderoga pencils are particularly sturdy and easy to erase.
The file folders will be used to store and showcase my students' best work, which they'll present to their families at the end-of-year stepping up ceremony.
As we progress through the kindergarten curriculum, students are now learning to find textual evidence to support their thinking. Highlighters will be a useful tool for them to mark and highlight their answers.
Overall, I have a wonderful group of kindergarteners this year who are excited about learning through tactile, interactive experiences. Preserving and displaying their hard work for family and friends is important.
