This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a Career Developer for LBUSD Youth Employment Network at our high school. I work with special needs students and provide them with pre-employment skills and transition support.

We have a few upcoming events to help our students transition from high school to the real world.

We are introducing students to various options after high school aside from their local community college. To help students explore the various paths we are going on various tours and visits to colleges, trade/vocational schools, and resource centers. In addition, we are hosting mock interviews to make sure students are prepared for interviews and the work force.

Our students are amazing and eager to explore post-secondary resources. They want to show that they are not limited due to their disability. However, sometimes they need a snack to keep them energized and engaged especially during day long events. The requested snacks will be greatly appreciated and a great way to thank them for their hard work and dedication.
