This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Most of the students in my classroom have discovered that books capture your imagination.
My students are creative and curious.
They love to do art projects and they enjoy learning. Our school is an art's magnet. Our goal is to help make learning more exciting and meaningful by incorporating dance, visual, music, and theater into our daily academics.
My Project
This project requests blank hardcover books, Broad-Tip Markers, and Peel & Stick Puzzle Letters. My students will use these materials to create books that they can share with their family and friends. They will first write the story which will include a number of edits. When it is ready, they will "publish" it. Finally, they will be given an opportunity to illustrate.
I have done this end of year project with other classes.
The students were so excited and proud to create a story of their own and "publish" it into a hardcover book that they can keep. I want this class to have that same experience.
