This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our first grade team will be helping our first graders create their unique art to symbolize their gratitude for a successful year end.
Students will use Tempra sticks, pipe cleaners, and chalk with art activities during their end of the year celebration to make their pinwheel and visor.
We have a combined total of 80 students in 1 ESL and 3 Bilingual Dual Language classrooms and your generous donations and matching funds will help bring their end-of-the-year celebration project to life.
Art items included are DIY visors, sunglasses (because their future is very bright), chalk sticks, glow sticks, play doh, Tempra paint sticks, DIY pinwheels, pipe cleaners, paper gift bags, stickers and bubble wands.
We are aiming to help prepare them for their summer break enjoying their bubble wands and pinwheels as they consciously practice calming strategies to regulate their breathing. Their visors will help protect their face from the sun's scorching rays and their sunglasses will also help to keep their sight unobstructed during play.
