Encouraging Students Through SEL (Social Emotional Learning)

Help me give my students the inspiration and support they need to be able to be successful in the classroom. I would like to do fun activities to help the students work on regulating their emotions .

My Students

I currently teach at a Title I, high poverty school. However, my students are rich in creativity, grit, and perseverance. My students are hard working and driven and can be successful if given the resources and opportunities needed. Like many schools across the globe we are implementing SEL(Social Emotional Learning) in the classrooms to help many of our students cope with their emotions and how to deal with everything currently going on in the world as well as in their personal lives.

I'm hoping to give my students a classroom environment that is safe, and inviting.

The supplies I'm asking for will help me build community in the classroom and allow for us to complete assignments in a safe and motivating environment.

My Project

Students will be given headphones to use both in the classroom and at home to complete video assignments at home. Students will be able to play the games on SEL lessons in the classroom to build classroom community and teach students how to deal with their emotions in and out the classroom. Students will be able to use electric sharpeners and staplers to avoid hands on contact to ensure a safer environment. Students will build relationships through interactive games and conversations and will be awarded with prizes that help to relieve stress.
