This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students work hard everyday to become better readers. I hold very high expectations for my students and believe that all students are capable of succeeding.

My students are respectful and courageous scholars who bring their best selves each and everyday.

We work to build a positive learning community where students have better access to educational materials to support them as they strive for greatness and success. My students are excited about their learning and deserve the best educational experience.

My Project

An hour of our day in spent learning in small groups. Students work on independent practice activities while I work with small groups of students work on reading various skills. While students are working independently, they need a variety of differentiated activities.

Practice does not make perfect; Only perfect practice makes perfect.

It is very important that students practice skills that support their reading on their independent level. Students need practice that is not too easy or too hard, but just right. The leveled books will be used during independent reading time for students have a variety of books to choose from on their independent level. The easel will be used during small group instruction to model new skills that support students reading comprehension.
