My students need 8 headphones to use while at our research center, headphone splitter, and ink cartridges to print his/her papers, reports or presentations.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The 5th grade students in my class are one big happy family. They are a compassionate group of students who love and respect one another. Over the course of the year, they have shown a greater level of empathy for others. In the classroom, this has led to the development of student leaders who have an intrinsic desire to help one another and who provide encouragement to their peers who may feel less confident. Not only do they show compassion, they work really hard despite challenging circumstances in their home life. Although they attend a Title 1 school in a city where violence is rampant, and resources are few, they come to school everyday ready to learn and optimistic about their future. I am proud to serve the compassionate and resilient students.
My Project
Research shows that there is only half as much variation in student achievement between schools as there is among classrooms in the same school. If you want your child to get the best education possible, it is actually more important to get him assigned to a great teacher than to a great school. Bill Gates.
They are growing as independent learners who want, and are encourage to seek out information for themselves and share it with their peers.
They continue to amaze me, and their peers, with their breadth and depth of experience! My students are driven and excited to learn, and foster that enthusiasm by providing them ample opportunity for exploration on topics that matter to or interest them.
I am requesting headphones, splitter and ink cartridges to improve our research center. The headphones will allow students to block out distracting sounds while conducting research or watching clips and videos. The headphone splitter will allow students to work in partnerships. The ink cartridges will allow my students to capture his/her new knowledge in a printed format to share with others.
