Encouraging Creativity

Help me give my students materials they can use to build and express their thoughts along with some books that showcase how creative we can be.

My Students

My kindergartners are an incredible group and their diversity is what makes them so special. These students live in a small town in Southwest Missouri but have traveled here from all over the world. More than half of my students are English language learners, and we incorporate that aspect into everything we do.

They may be small, but they are mighty and eager to learn.

Through the help of data binders, setting individual goals, and hands-on learning practices, my students are able to monitor their own academic progress for further achievement.

Our primary school is also a Title I school with a high rate of students on free or reduced lunch.

Even though we have many challenges, we still work hard and met/exceed all expectations that are placed on us. I have the future in my classroom, and they will accomplish anything they put their minds to.

My Project

My students get excited about hands-on activities where they can express themselves. For that, I want my kindergarteners to have materials to build whatever they can think of and make it real.

Students should be able to DREAM and be CREATIVE along with having people around them that encourage them to utilize those aspects, helping them to grow and learn from it.

Not only does this work on their creativity, but it will help with social skills by talking with their peers about what they are doing and working together to collaborate on ideas. Furthermore, they will also work on fine motor skills, manipulate the materials that are at hand.

All of this will be encouraged through some great read alouds that discuss creativity, making mistakes, and the power that we all hold inside of us if we just try.
