My Students

As the art educator for our fabulous k-4 title one school, I have the intense honor of working, hands-on, with every single student here at NS.

As an Art Educator, is it a tremendous joy to watch the creativity and imagination of all my students flourish in our art room.

Our students come to school for an extended learning day and are taxed with a lot of academic work. As well they present with a diverse and unique set of individual needs for success. In the Art Room, we are able to tap into their best attributes and let loose as they discover the artists that have changed our world, and encourage their own craftiness.

My Project

Each year, the Art Supplies budget gets tighter and tighter. I have the opportunity to work with each class for two-week blocks. This unique schedule allows us to work on multiple projects and complete them in a given window of time.

These paints, pastels, and chalk will be used in a variety of incredibly engaging art projects.

Students will study a plethora of artists in this unit and will create pieces inspired by Picasso, Georgia O'Keefe, and Sandra Silberzweig.

Not only will these supplies inspire their creativity, but it allows the opportunity to share these works of art with the community at large.
