Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My students are pregnant or parenting teens. These students are in the 7th-12th grades and attending middle school or high school full time while parenting an infant or toddler.

Being a full time parent is demanding enough! Now add being a full time middle or high school student, and being under age 18, a child yourself. These parenting students have chosen an extremely difficult task, to parent their child while continuing their education. Their goal and ours is that they graduate and then go on to college or trade school. Some days it just seems like too much to expect of themselves and discouragement sets in. I have a team of people ready to send words of encouragement to these parents.

This is where we need your help. I need for you to supply the note cards. We plan to send each student parent a personalized message of encouragement on a monthly basis.

With your help we can encourage these young parents to continue their education! We can encourage them to meet their goals. We can lift them up with a meaningful note that will help them to take the next step towards graduation! A word of encouragement goes a long way!
