Many of them immediately began exploring the materials, pointing out new features and asking questions about how they could use them in class. One particular moment that stood out was during a group activity, when a student who normally struggles with staying engaged was the first to raise his hand and volunteer to use the new resource. His classmates cheered him on, and it was clear that having access to fresh, engaging tools gave him a new sense of confidence.\r\n\r\nSince then, we have been using these resources daily to support both independent practice and group projects. For example, in our math lessons, students have been working on solving equations using manipulatives and technology that make abstract concepts more concrete. In English, they've been able to annotate texts and share their thinking in ways that help build collaboration. These resources have not only increased participation, but they've also created more opportunities for students to demonstrate their understanding in ways that meet their unique learning needs.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, my students are using these tools to prepare for upcoming projects that combine reading, writing, and math skills. Right now, we are working on a unit where they will create presentations to show their problem-solving process and explain their ideas clearly to others. The new materials are helping them organize their thoughts and take ownership of their learning. Your generosity has not just provided supplies—it has created moments of joy, curiosity, and growth that will continue to shape their learning experience throughout the year.","fullyFundedDate":1746785231945,"projectUrl":"project/motivation-matters-rewards-for-learning/9063680/","projectTitle":"Motivation Matters: Rewards for Learning and Growth","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Scott","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9605317"},{"teacherId":9605317,"projectId":8772983,"letterContent":"The new resources have been a game-changer in my classroom, especially as we work on strengthening my students' reading and writing skills. Using these materials, we've been able to make learning more interactive and engaging, particularly when practicing the RACES writing strategy. One of the best moments was when my students used their new whiteboards to break down text evidence and explain their reasoning before writing their responses. Seeing them collaborate, support each other, and gain confidence in their writing was incredible. These resources have helped bridge the gap between their reading level and the high school curriculum, making complex concepts more accessible.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, they were genuinely excited. They love anything that makes learning feel more hands-on, and their enthusiasm showed in their willingness to participate more actively. Moving forward, we're incorporating these resources into our vocabulary lessons, where students will use them for quick quizzes and creative word association activities to expand their word knowledge. As we continue working through our unit on \"The Bonds Between Us,\" these tools will help my students make deeper connections with the texts and improve their ability to express their ideas clearly. Thanks to your generosity, my students are developing essential literacy skills in a way that feels meaningful and engaging to them.","fullyFundedDate":1731078862474,"projectUrl":"project/support-my-students-and-supply-their-suc/8772983/","projectTitle":"Support my Students and Supply Their Success!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Scott","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9605317"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_11561","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":2301,"numTeachers":172,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":39,"percentWhite":2,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":52,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"13.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":66.4,"schoolId":11561,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Westfield High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Westfield High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/spring-independent-school-district/westfield-high-school/11561"}
