This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are from a low-income area. A large portion of my students have social and financial problems. Most of these students are bilingual and receive free lunch. They struggle to bring in supplies and often struggle to pay and attend events.

My students are good children from low-income families that deserve the tools necessary to help them prepare for their future; with all the obstacles facing my students, school supplies should not be one of them.

They are hard workers who strive to produce work, and lack the supplies to do so.

My Project

This project is amazing because it supports our students who not only love the game of basketball, but are encouraged to stay off the streets. This project supports our girls' and boys' basketball teams. These students are dedicated to attending practices and games. Each time they play, they bring a change of clothes to and from school and also to away games. Many of the students walk or take the bus. These duffle bags allow them to carry their sneakers, uniforms and sports gear securely to and from school. Because of this league, each member of the team is expected to keep up a standard both behaviorally and academically. Basketball is such a positive sport in their lives. Please help us make it better!
