This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Hello! My students are bright, kind, generous students who come from low-income, immigrant families of color. They come to me from their jobs they worked all night, from their families where they take care of all their younger siblings, from their home to the safety and security of my classroom. They do not have the luxury of spending their time or money on things like prom or the décor to make it a night to remember.
This year is especially important to them as they are working to plan, fund and host their junior prom.
They are making their décor by hand, going without and doing the best with the bare minimum I can offer them in regards to supplies. They deserve to have a beautiful prom and not feel like their wants don't matter. We are asking for greenery, paint and picture hanging materials.
Please help me give my kids a beautiful prom that they can look back on for years to come. All of the supplies will be use to decorate their prom, add photo opportunities for them to remember the event forever and help make their enchanted forest vision come to life!
