This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My school serves approximately 550 students who are enthusiastic about learning and eager to try new things. They are passionate about the arts and have expressed a desire to work with a variety of mediums in their visual arts class. They are ready to get started! Many of these students have limited experience with using a variety of art materials and some do not have a chance to explore art at home.
These K-5 students are inquisitive and eager; they have inspired me to be excited each day about teaching them new things.
In the past couple of years, our school's focus has been academics and improving state test scores. Students met the challenge and have made great academic gains. Now we are eager to enrich the students with a variety of opportunities to expand their horizons and pique their interests.
My Project
Students are asking for quality materials to create two and three dimensional projects. We need clay for our kiln as well as glazes for painting our pottery. We are also seeking oil based clay and Model Magic with which younger hands can work. We would love some pastels, construction paper crayons, and paint pens so we can create art full of color and pizzazz. We are seeking wire, Twisteez, and shrink film to add some variety to our 3D artwork.
Bright minds and eager hands are ready to get started with exciting new art materials!
We are hoping to make our school proud at the county wide Fine Arts Festival this year!
