Empowering Young Readers with EBLI Training

My Project

Every child deserves the opportunity to become a confident, successful reader. As a dedicated kindergarten teacher and reading coach, I am always seeking the best strategies to support my students' literacy development. One of the most effective approaches is EBLI (Evidence-Based Literacy Instruction)—a research-backed method proven to accelerate reading success for learners of all levels.

Over 90% of my students are Title I and classified as high needs, and for many of them, English is not their first language.

These challenges make it even more critical to implement effective, research-based strategies to support their literacy development.

Instead of looking at letters on a page and matching sounds to them, EBLI Instruction matches sounds in a word to the letters that represent them - from spoken to written words. For some of my students, this approach could be truly life-changing!

This training will equip me with cutting-edge techniques to enhance phonemic awareness, decoding, fluency, and comprehension for my students. By implementing EBLI strategies, I can help struggling readers gain confidence, close literacy gaps, and foster a lifelong love of reading.

Your donation to my project would help me get trained in EBLI and obtain the teacher manual and student materials. I am so excited to get started with this speech-to-print approach to teaching reading because I truly believe that this may be the key to reaching some of my students who have struggled to read for so long.
