Empowering Young Artists: Essential Tools for Creative Expression

Help me give my students air-dry clay, black colored pencils, fine-point Sharpies, rulers, and French curves so they can create expressive 3D art and detailed drawings beyond the basic supplies our district provides.

FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Merrill's classroom raised $485

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My Project:

Our school district provides basic art supplies such as paper, colored pencils, Crayola markers, and watercolor sets.

While these are helpful, we’re missing some key tools that would allow my students to work in 3D, develop technical drawing skills, and enhance their artwork with greater detail.

This project will fund:

Air-dry clay, so students can create 3D sculptures without needing a kiln.

Black colored pencils and fine-point Sharpies to add contrast, detail, and emphasis to their artwork.

Rulers and French curves to support accurate, confident line work and design-based projects such as architecture, poster-making, and storyboarding.

These materials will allow us to go beyond the basics and enable students to grow as young artists with the tools they need to succeed.

The Impact:

Art fosters confidence, problem-solving, and creativity. With these materials, my students will be able to engage in more advanced art-making experiences, especially those who don’t have access to supplies at home. This project will help bridge that gap and ensure every student has a chance to develop their artistic voice.
