This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The majority of my students are migrants from Latin America, seeking a better life for themselves and their families in the United States. To support their transition and language development, our school is implementing Lexia English, a program specifically designed to teach foundational English skills to newcomer students. However, to maximize the effectiveness of this program, we are in need of essential resources, including headphones that will facilitate the practice of their listening and speaking skills.
My goal is to provide engaging activities and resources that capture my students' interest and keep lessons dynamic.
To this end, I will incorporate interactive games such as Bingo and Guess Who, along with language books aimed at building their vocabulary and enhancing their reading, listening, and speaking abilities.
Additionally, I am requesting laminating sheets to create high-quality, durable materials that will support student learning and foster interaction. Laminating will ensure that these resources withstand frequent use, making them more effective and visually appealing for my students.
Together, these tools will create a rich learning environment that promotes language acquisition and empowers my students on their educational journey. Thank you for considering this project to enhance the educational experiences of our newcomer students.
