This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The Chromebooks and scanners requested in this grant proposal will create a library self-checkout station which will directly impact our students' learning in several ways.

It will increase access to resources by streamlining the checkout process with a self-checkout station.

This accessibility will encourage them to explore diverse topics and genres, fostering a love for reading and lifelong learning.

It will promote independence, empowering students to manage their own library transactions and instilling a sense of independence and responsibility. They will develop essential organizational skills as they navigate the self-checkout process, enhancing their ability to succeed both academically and in life.

We hope to increase book borrowing. We aim to increase the frequency of book borrowing among our students by simplifying the checkout process and making library resources more accessible.

We hope to foster independence. We seek to foster a culture of independence and responsibility among our students by empowering them to manage their own library transactions.

We want to enhance efficiency. We aim to improve the overall efficiency of library operations by reducing wait times and congestion at the circulation desk, creating a more streamlined and positive experience for both students and staff.

Our students are special because they demonstrate resilience, creativity, and a thirst for knowledge despite facing significant economic challenges. They possess unique talents and perspectives that enrich our school community, and they deserve every opportunity to succeed. By investing in initiatives like the implementation of a self-checkout station in our elementary library, we can provide our students with the resources and support they need to thrive academically and beyond.
