This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are curious, eager learners who deserve access to the world beyond our classroom walls. To help them become informed, compassionate, and critical thinkers, I’m requesting a subscription to Scholastic magazines. These engaging, age-appropriate resources provide nonfiction texts that expose students to current events, global cultures, environmental issues, and scientific discoveries.

Many of my students have limited access to high-quality reading materials outside of school.

Scholastic magazines make learning exciting and relevant, allowing them to explore real-world topics that connect directly to what they’re learning in class. With vibrant images, accessible vocabulary, and interactive activities, these magazines will support literacy growth while also helping students develop a broader understanding of the world.

By reading about real people, places, and challenges from around the globe, my goal is for students to see themselves as part of a much larger community. I want them to become thoughtful, respectful global citizens—students who can think critically, ask questions, and care about others. Scholastic magazines will help ignite this awareness and foster the empathy and curiosity that make lifelong learners and world-wide thinkers.
