Helping Students Thrive with Self-Regulation Tools and Resources
I work with an incredible group of students who are bright, resilient, and eager to learn but sometimes struggle with managing their emotions and behaviors in the school environment.
As an elementary behavior specialist, I support students in developing the self-regulation skills they need to feel safe, stay engaged, and succeed in the classroom. My students are special because, despite their challenges, they are working hard every day to build skills that will help them navigate school and beyond.
The resources I’m requesting—wobble stools, weighted lap pads, fidgets, SEL games, and books—will provide students with the tools they need to regulate their emotions, stay focused, and participate in learning. Wobble stools will offer movement-friendly seating, helping students with sensory needs stay engaged. Weighted lap pads provide calming pressure to help with self-soothing and focus. Fidgets support students who need a quiet, discreet way to channel excess energy. SEL games and books will help teach essential skills like emotional awareness, conflict resolution, and problem-solving.
My goal is to create a space where students feel empowered, supported, and ready to learn. With these tools, they will develop self-regulation strategies that allow them to access their education in a safe and meaningful way.
