I teach in a Title I school, which means that many of my students come from low income families. We are a high poverty area; however, when my students enter the classroom they are eager to learn.
My students are sweet and charismatic, though many of them face numerous difficulties both at home and in school.
Because they face such adversity, I want to provide them with everything they need in order to be successful in school. They deserve the best education that I can give them.
My Project
My students need to have the opportunity to discover what works best for them while learning. This not only includes learning styles, but also flexible seating to help them concentrate and focus.
Students today need to have choice in order to stay motivated and take charge of their learning!
Many students are unable to sit still all day in a traditional classroom and as a result cannot focus. Seating choices like wobble chairs, balance balls, and wobble cushions will allow my students to move at their desks without falling out of their chairs! Also, soft cushions on the floor will let them work on a low table, with a clipboard, or even on their bellies if they choose.
I hope to empower my students by helping them learn what enhances their individual learning styles. With flexible seating they can figure out what seating arrangement works for them in order to be happy and engaged in the classroom. Thank you for your support in my endeavor!
