I am blessed to work with an extremely special group of kiddos! This project will impact students in kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade. My primary responsibilities are to help students better understand their thoughts and emotions, to become more self-aware, and to develop more empathy for others within their community and the world around them.
Understanding our emotions can be difficult, especially for students that struggle with self-regulation.
Please help me create a classroom that is safe and inviting and fosters an environment where they can grow as social & emotional learners. The rug, flexible seating options and lamps will be used to create a calming corner within my classroom. The social-emotional picture books will be incorporated into our daily skills groups. The remaining manipulatives will help me create a multitude of sensory bins that students can utilize while in our calming corner.
