Empowering Students to Breathe for Change

I need to provide my students with support in Social and Emotional Learning by teaching yoga classes and lead social emotional learning and wellness experiences in my school community.

My Project

I aspire to help my students to deal with many of the stressors and challenges that life brings them in their adolescence. The pandemic and trauma have brought new challenges to students within and beyond the classroom. It is through social emotional learning that students can access the tools necessary for wellness and academic achievement.

The Breathe for Change training will certify me to teach yoga classes to students and lead social emotional learning and wellness experiences at my school.

Upon completion of this course, I will become certified as a Social-Emotional Learning Facilitator and earn a nationally recognized RYT-200 hour yoga teacher certification. I will learn strategies to facilitate wellness, social emotional learning, and trauma-informed yoga to my students. Additionally, I will have the opportunity to integrate proactive practices and build a healthy classroom environment to inspire learning.
