This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As an educator, I have the privilege of witnessing my students' growth and development every day. I currently teach a 7th grade math class in Harlem. These are a group of students who come from different cultural backgrounds and academic levels. My 7th graders are eager to learn and have hopes for their future. They want to become professionals and thrive in life. What I love most about my students is their unique blend of curiosity, creativity, and resilience. They are eager to learn, ask thoughtful questions, and support one another in their academic journeys.
However, I recognize that each student learns differently and faces individual challenges.
That's why I am excited to introduce new resources that will help them thrive. We currently have an intervention table at our class where I seat with students who need that extra support in class. The mini IPad, in particular, will revolutionize our classroom experience. The IPad will provide my students access to a wealth of digital tools and educational apps that will enhance their learning. They will be able to: Engage in interactive lessons and simulations, making complex concepts more accessible and fun. They will also develop their creative writing and art skills through digital storytelling and multimedia projects. I will be able to collect immediate data to inform my future lessons and classroom decisions to support students. These resources will support their academic growth and help them develop essential math skills like problem-solving, critical thinking, and self-directed learning.
