My students need art supplies, such as markers, paints, and paintbrushes and writing materials, such as notebooks and clipboards to be empowered through art.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are special because they come from a low income neighborhood, and yet the teachers and parents in the neighborhood have found a way for these students to succeed in this world. A huge population of the parents have very little schooling in which they can help their children succeed.
Our school is a Title I school where we get funding to help these students succeed in learning.
Our students try hard every day to learn in a positive way.
My Project
I am asking for some art materials so that my students can continue to be empowered through art. My students need spill proof paint cups, markers, colored pencils and watercolors to create wonderful projects using their creative abilities. They will also need books about various artist, clipboards and notebooks so that they can research their favorite artists and use the notebooks to take notes when we visit the many museums that are around us.
The donations I am asking for will make a difference in my students' learning because it will empower them through art.
A lot of my students have a difficult time with the academics so these materials will allow them to express themselves through art empowering them to do many things that they didn't think they could do.
I plan on using these materials to teach my students about the different artists empowering them; to write a report about an artist and through art, they can create a project about their favorite artist.
I also plan on taking my students to the various museums where they can continue to be empowered through art by observing the different art works and writing observational notes on each artist. This I feel will be very powerful when they can actually see the work of art in person.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
