My students need construction paper of all different colors, white drawing paper, butcher paper, and a color printer. They need moldable sand to create settings.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Madden's classroom raised $564

My Students
I teach in an inclusion classroom in a Title I school with a high poverty level. All of my students learn in different ways at different rates. Students learn so much better and make better with project based assessments. They will use these items to evaluate, analyze, and create.
The students will be empowered through art.
The projects will be assessed using rubrics that are prepared before the project begins. Students will be well aware of what is expected to receive a score of exceed, on-level or needs improvement. Students will use computers and printers for research purposes as well as items in the media center. They will write a paper, develop a brochure, etc. to go along with the art part of their project. It moves the students from memorizing facts they have learned to making connections to their own life and exploring their knowledge through art. These projects will not be limited to art such as painting, sculpting, ect. but will also include writing, songs and performing skits for the class.
My Project
This will wake the student's imagination and spark their curiosity. They will not only start asking questions but be excited to find the answers through all mediums: paint, sculpture, ceramics, anything they can dream, hopefully they can create. These supplies will give students the mediums to do all of these things while showing what they have learned through art.
Because we are an inclusion classroom we have two classrooms that we can utilize areas for research, project work, teacher, and students conferences.
Students can work in pairs, individually, or small groups. Many of our assessments can be project based using the materials I have requested. We can use the printer for research and writing our stories, the paper we can use to create characters in our stories. This will empower the students to create characters, reenact settings through art.
