Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am excited to have the opportunity to teach a wonderful group of students who come from low-income families. Despite the obstacles they face outside of school, these children are eager to learn, curious, and full of potential.
My goal is to create a warm, inviting classroom where every child feels safe, comfortable, and enthusiastic about exploring new ideas.
To achieve this, I am seeking donations of various educational and comfort-focused resources that will support their academic progress and foster a positive learning environment.
For our library space, I would love to add a Big Joe Sports plush soccer ball bean bag chair. This cozy seating option will make reading time more inviting and encourage children to relax and connect with books. Flexible seating like the Kids Surf Lap Desk will allow students to move around and choose comfortable spots, increasing engagement and focus during lessons.
Additionally, I am requesting a LEGO Creative Brick Box and sensory toys to aid social-emotional development, teamwork, and imaginative play—essential skills for children facing adversity. To facilitate interactive lessons, I hope to acquire a set of 24 Deluxe Dry Erase Rectangular Whiteboard Paddles, along with 72 durable dry markers which will enable quick assessments, brainstorming, and peer collaboration for all students.
Pencils are vital, and I am seeking a bulk pack of 1,000 high-quality, pre-sharpened #2 HB wooden pencils to ensure every student can participate fully in writing and drawing activities. To encourage ongoing practice, I also request lead pencils and refills (0.7 mm and 0.5 mm) as well as squishy sensory toys for our treasure boxes, where students earn prizes through effort.
These resources will significantly impact my students’ ability to learn and flourish. With your generosity, I can provide tools and spaces that nurture their talents, confidence, and love for learning.
