This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Since my refugee and immigrant students are new to the country, I feel that they deserve a welcoming environment where they will feel comfortable and confident. The ESL Vocabulary, Grammar & Conversation Cards, &Supplementary Activities will aide them in speaking and expressing their thoughts about their interests and experiences. The Lakeshore Big Beanbags will provide comfort , a feeling of relaxation, letting the students know that they are in a safe environment, while giving them the opportunity for seating choice. The professional literature: "ESL/ELL Teacher's Survival Guide"& "ESL Role Plays" will help provide students with helpful strategies and skills. The English for Everyone Beginner Intermediate Advance Box Sets will provide students to have a selection of stories to read. The Opposites Flash Cards supports students in labeling, understanding the importance of vocabulary, building oral language skills in listening / speaking. The Verb Flash Cards Volume 1 / Prepositions Flash Cards / helps students to use verbs in simple sentences, build vocabulary , while they learn to use prepositions in complete sentences. The ESL Warm-Ups: For Kids will enhance students speaking/ listening skills. The ESL Worksheets & Plans 1&2: Supplementary Lessons ESL Worksheets will provide targeted practice for each student's need for listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The Phonemic Awareness Magnetic Board, will be key in introducing letters, sounds, which will build their words and vocabulary banks.
My goal for this project would be for my students to be able to express themselves clearly in the English language through speaking, reading, writing, and listening.
My students are special because they really want to learn another language. They come with rich experiences to share from all over the world. They are passionate about learning English and they deserve an education that will serve and inspire them toward their individual goals and dreams!
