My Project

Many of my students with specials needs face daily challenges with reading due to learning differences that make decoding, fluency, and comprehension difficult. This project will provide a pen reader and a classroom projector to give students access to text-to-speech, audio, and visual supports that make reading more accessible, engaging, and meaningful.

Students with special needs who struggle with reading often lack access to assistive technology that can convert text into audio and visual formats, limiting their ability to independently access grade-level content.

The purpose of this project is to support students with reading difficulties by providing tools that read text aloud, display content visually, and combine audio and video supports to strengthen comprehension, confidence, and participation in learning.

With the pen reader and projector, students will be able to hear text read aloud, follow along visually, and better understand what they are reading. These tools will reduce frustration, increase engagement, and help students access curriculum content alongside their peers.

Text-to-speech technology promotes independence, builds confidence, and supports diverse learning styles. Audio and video reading supports help students improve comprehension, stay focused, and feel successful in the classroom, especially those with special needs or reading disabilities.
