Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are curious, compassionate, and eager to make a difference in their community. They come to school each day full of energy and questions about the world around them. What I love most about them is their sense of fairness and their growing awareness that their voices matter. Even at a young age, they are learning how to listen, share ideas, and make choices that help our classroom community thrive.

The reading educational kit will give my students the tools they need to build strong literacy foundations.

Through hands-on, engaging activities, they’ll strengthen essential reading skills such as phonics, fluency, and comprehension. These interactive lessons will help ensure that every student—no matter their starting point—can access the joy and power of reading.

The diverse books will open doors for my students to see themselves and others represented in meaningful ways. By reading stories that highlight different cultures, perspectives, and civic values, students will learn empathy and develop a deeper understanding of what it means to be part of a community. These books will not only help them become better readers but also inspire them to grow into thoughtful, informed, and active citizens.
