it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Many of our students face daily challenges that go beyond the classroom. One of these often-overlooked barriers is access to essential menstrual products. Without these basic needs being met, students may miss valuable class time, lose focus, or even avoid school altogether. By providing menstrual products, we can ensure that our students feel safe, supported, and confident, allowing them to fully engage in their learning without the worry of managing their period without proper resources.
Access to menstrual products is crucial for ensuring that our students can attend class consistently and participate actively.
When students have access to necessary hygiene items, they can focus on their studies without distraction or discomfort. By removing this barrier, we are directly supporting students’ academic performance, attendance, and overall well-being. This small but significant support will empower them to concentrate on learning, knowing their needs are cared for.
We want our students to feel comfortable and confident in their learning environment, free from the stigma or shame that often surrounds periods. By ensuring that every student has access to these essentials, we are fostering a more inclusive, supportive school community where all students can thrive. Ultimately, we hope to create a learning space where no student’s education is disrupted due to a lack of basic hygiene supplies.
