This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students are excited to learn English as a Second Language. I teach at a Title I school and often do not have the funds from home to provide most of their classroom necessities.
I would like for the students to enter a classroom that excites them about their journey as they learn English.
It would excite the students to have English/Spanish dictionaries that they can use with ease in the classroom. They will also be able to use these during the STAAR 2022 tests.
The dictionaries we currently have are old, have very small print, they smell like mildew and are falling apart.

My Project
These dictionaries will empower the students to take learning into their own hands by being able to look up words from their native language into English. They will also be able to use these dictionaries during their Texas STAAR test. They will feel more confident as they learn to use the dictionaries and learn English vocabulary at the same time.
The dictionaries we currently use at my Title I school are old, smelly and falling apart.
The students need the current, new, version of the dictionaries to make sure they have the latest version with the most vocabulary words.
