This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love the resilience and determination of my students, who continuously inspire me with their unique perspectives and creativity. Each day, they demonstrate an incredible ability to overcome challenges, reminding me of the importance of adaptability and perseverance. A standing desk with a foot swing will significantly enhance the learning experience for my students by promoting physical activity, which has been shown to improve focus, reduce distractions, and increase overall engagement. This dynamic setup allows students to incorporate movement into their learning process, which is particularly beneficial for those with sensory needs, as it provides an outlet for fidgeting and restlessness.

Furthermore, the ability to shift positions throughout the day helps alleviate discomfort often associated with prolonged sitting, leading to a more comfortable and productive classroom environment.

By providing this adaptable learning space, I can empower my students to take charge of their educational journeys, fostering independence and confidence in their abilities. This not only supports their academic growth but also encourages a sense of ownership and pride in their learning, ultimately helping them to thrive both in and out of the classroom.
