This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My classroom is an environment where every student can feel safe, supported, and learn anything they strive for. However, many of my students face daily challenges that affect their mental health, such as anxiety, stress, and lack of confidence in their academic abilities. With your support, I'd like to alleviate these challenges by creating an environment in which students feel supported, calm, and ready to engage in learning. To achieve this, I am requesting a set of essential tools and resources: calculators, earphones, a laminator, pencils, pens, markers, colored pencils, colored paper, and sheet protectors.

These items will help my students by reducing stress and anxiety.

A classroom set of calculators will alleviate the stress of students from low-income backgrounds having to buy their own. This will also encourage them to use a calculator rather than a phone, enhancing their learning by taking away distractions. Earphones are also requested for virtual simulations to provide students with a quieter environment to concentrate and manage their sensory needs.

Creative supplies like colored pencils, markers, and colored paper will encourage students to express themselves and engage with learning in a way that feels less intimidating and more fun. They will be used for class projects and labs to provide a more hands-on learning experience. A laminator and sheet protectors will allow us to create durable, reusable learning aids, promoting consistency and reducing the anxiety of new or changing materials.

By providing these tools, I hope to build a classroom environment that fosters mental well-being, reduces barriers to learning, and helps every student feel equipped and ready to succeed. With your support, we can create a space where confidence grows and learning thrives.
