This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In my high school special education class within a predominantly Latino community, I aim to enhance learning opportunities for my students. This project focuses on acquiring giant magnetic educational tools to support diverse learning needs, including magnetic lined pages, early writing pages, a classroom timer, and a graph & array chart.

My students are incredibly diverse, each with unique learning styles and needs.

Many struggle with fine motor skills and benefit greatly from large, tactile learning materials. The requested giant magnetic lined and early writing pages will assist in improving their handwriting, organization, and expression by allowing me to model appropriately in a way that will be easy to see for all the learners in the class. A classroom timer will aid in time management, fostering independence and focus. Additionally, the magnetic graph and array chart will provide a visual aid for mathematical concepts, benefiting both visual and kinetic learners.

The goal of this project is to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment where every student feels empowered and supported. These resources will make a significant difference in their learning by promoting hands-on engagement, making abstract concepts tangible, and improving fine motor skills crucial for academic success.

What I adore about my students is their resilience, determination, and unwavering enthusiasm for learning despite facing various challenges. They inspire me every day with their unique perspectives and relentless efforts to overcome obstacles.

My students are special because of their incredible diversity, both in cultural backgrounds and in learning needs. By acquiring these giant magnetic educational tools, I hope to cater to their diverse needs, making learning more accessible and enjoyable for each individual in my classroom.
