Empowering Middle School ELA students in Reading Comprehension

Help me give my students motivation to do their best in each class that I can give them awards if they will do their best on their classes.

My Project

I love my 8th-grade SPED students for their unique perspectives, resilience, and determination. Each of them brings something special to the classroom, and it's incredibly rewarding to see their growth, no matter how small the steps may be. They face challenges with reading comprehension, writing, and other academic skills, but they never give up. The resources from this project, such as engaging reading materials, a printer for individualized worksheets, wireless headsets for focused listening activities, and a variety of snacks to keep them energized, will provide them with the targeted support they need to succeed.

The specific items will make a huge difference in their lives:

The printer will allow me to create personalized learning materials and worksheets tailored to each student's reading and comprehension level, ensuring they get the practice they need.

Wireless headsets will allow students to engage in immersive audio-based learning, which can help improve focus and comprehension, especially for those who struggle with traditional reading methods.

High-interest books and comprehension materials will help them develop essential reading skills at their own pace, building confidence in their literacy abilities.

The snacks will ensure that students stay nourished and focused throughout the day, as some come from home environments where access to healthy food is limited. A well-fed student is more engaged and ready to learn.
