Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a high school math teacher and having a new iPad in my classroom will revolutionize both teaching for me and learning for my students.
For my students, the iPad provides access to interactive apps like GeoGebra and Desmos, which make complex concepts more tangible and engaging.
The iPad will also support personalized learning by offering adaptive tools that cater to individual progress, ensuring every student who uses the iPad can learn at their own pace. For myself, the iPad will enhance my lessons and my delivery with dynamic tools for creating visual aids, interactive presentations, and tutorial videos. Apps like Explain Everything and Notability will help me to model problem-solving step-by-step which would fostering a deeper understanding for my students. Additionally, having an iPad would help streamline my grading and assessments through digital submission and feedback, allowing me to focus more on my lesson planning and instruction. By combining technology with pedagogy, having an iPad will help me create a modern, efficient, and engaging math class. Many of my students struggle tremendously with math and having an iPad with the tools to make math a little easier to understand will not only help them academically, but will also help their mental well-being by feeling a little less stressed about math.
