it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our elementary school’s math intervention program supports students struggling with math, including many who are underprivileged or have low English proficiency.
By providing the right tools and resources, we can significantly impact students' learning and confidence in mathematics.
Stuffed Eagle Mascot: Boost morale and foster a sense of community and school spirit.
Copy Paper: For creating handouts and practice tests, allowing students to paste these resources into their individual notebooks.
Calculators: Help students check their work, enhance their number sense, and deepen their understanding of mathematical operations.
Portable Pencil Sharpener: Essential for group work in various areas of the school, ensuring students always have sharpened pencils ready for learning.
Kleenex and Paper Towels: Keeping our math intervention space clean and sanitary is crucial for a healthy learning environment.
Magnetic Bills and Coins: Enhance students’ skills in counting and working with money, providing a hands-on approach to learning practical math skills.
Didax Instructional and Practice Clocks: Vital for helping our younger students learn to tell time.
Manipulative Bubble Charts: Offer a hands-on way for students to learn numbers and multiplication, making abstract concepts more concrete.
Elmer’s Glue Sticks: Used for pasting activities into math journals, keeping their work organized.
By incorporating these items into our interventions program, we aim to improve student understanding, enhance engagement, foster a supportive learning environment, and boost morale.
Our students are resilient and eager to learn despite facing significant challenges. Many come from underprivileged backgrounds or are English language learners, making their success in math crucial for their overall academic achievement.
